One Year

So this weekend (not this date, it was the 26 this weekend last year) last year we got married......I hear people going around in limos honking the horns and it makes me jealous because I want to do it all over again it was way to much fun to happen only once in ones life. We will never a celebration as grand and it doesn't matter what we do for our anniversary it will not live up to our wedding day. Sad but true. Well at least I have the photos! Here are a couple of my favorite, and yes this is a couple considering I have over 1200 from our photographer and about 800 from everyone else!

New Job

OMG I wish I had the energy...to girls that witnessed me last night rubbing my eyes and complaing well I had a great reason. My eyes are so red its not even funny and sore and producing a type of dis..you know the word. I had to leave my new job early to walk in the rain without an umbrella to the optometrist to get a prescription to walk to the drug store in the rain to walk to the LRT in the rain....ughgghgh not a good day.

In summary:
I have an horrible bactrial eye infection
I came home drenched
I had to wait 1 hr to see the dr
I have to throw out my $30 mascara
i'm still sick
My nice boots are wrecked and i'm not paying to fix them for the billionth time
Only one of my co workers was at work
She took me out for lunch on her
If your in Edmonton go to Gabannas on Jasper its awesome
I have my own nice little office area

I'm going to bed.

Devastated.

My hair dresser moved to Quebec. I need not say another word. Excuse me while I console myself.

PS. It's my last day at NorQuest and tomorrow is my first day at the new fantastic job.

I'm sick...why now??? Why right before I start my new job....uggggh I feel like i'm going to ralf and have a super horrible fever and a horrible cough.... My plans for scraping kind of got destroyed.

Desperate Housewives is such a good show. Rowan and I were having a problem similar to the on with the two gay guys and the cherub just not nearly as ridecous actually something serious but then I was listening to the husband and how he was saying if you can't handle this problem what are you going to do when someone gets cancer or a tornado hits. Really put the smaller thing into perspective.

I did manage to get three layouts done but I am too sick to figure out the camera....have a great week just in case I don't make back on here.

Since I have been so busy with job finding, family history bs, making a class, and NSD this is all I have done in like the past 3 weeks of my own work, enjoy it because it might be a while! It was hard for me to do because it was a staff challenge with the paper crate muted green and cream paper which is not bright enough for me :P But I guess it'll do. TFL have a great day! Tomorrow I will be doing Habitat for Humanity look for silly pictures to come!

Tattered Angels Class Sneak Peak

I actually did better than I thought I would with a 12 x 12 class - for those of you who don't know, I do 8.5 x 11 and don't like things square :)

In my class there will be three Layouts it is in June and costs $35 and you get to take home a glimmer mist of your choice!!! Plus it's worth it because you can pick my brain all you want :)

Daily Horoscope

There is a greater clarity in your life today. It's almost as if a light has suddenly been turned on and things finally make sense. The reason for this could be a new person in your life, but it is more likely that you simply have made a connection between a past trial and what is going on now. You have learned, and are taking insight from your own heart to see things more clearly. In effect, you are able to give yourself your own good advice! It's more proof that you are growing.

Wow you have no idea how right this. The wound is still really fresh and once it heals I will explain. It’s like the wool has been lifted from over my eyes. It does have to do with my biological mother and what happened between my father and her. My father’s a lot stronger than I realized.

30 Layouts

Okay I've spent enough. I have enough paper, thread, bling, embelishments, buttons, brads etc to do at least 30 pages. So until I have done 30 awesome layouts I will not be buying anything but adhesive. That's my challenge - I am aloud to put stuff in my hold bin though and if someone buys me something I will accept.

Only 70 days left to CHA

How exciting. They just put the Exhibitor list and map up and you better believe that I am currently hi-lighting every vendor I need to see, resizing maps and making a plan of attack. I know Chantel you are peeing your pants laughing at how you had to draw the most organized obsessive compulsive person out of the entire store. Although I do not have my CHA binder yet (the one that will contain every detail possible including your budget – to which I have no control over following) I do have labels prepared. Just kidding – I haven’t had time to get that far yet. Oh and it’s not nearly as large as SEMA (same type of show but for the automotive industry) – like a ¼ of the size.

On a more serious note I have like 4 projects on the go (mom’s day stuff, wall thingy, a 12*12 class, and a cute 6*12 mini album – and I’ll probably have to add a mom’s day card class on to all of that!). Hopefully working the Late Night Crop with Lisa will allow me to get at least two of these done! I really look forward to working with Ms. Lisa. Although she may be a little one the messy side she at least allows me to hog the counter space.

1 Year Anniversary – it’s almost time 17 days to go and the sad part is…..we probably won’t do a darn thing. I know we are going to get in crap for not helping outside with the spring clean up but they had to change the date to our anniversary – that’s their fault.

Sunday – we will be going out to my mom and dads. Rowan and Dad will be looking at the car (67’ Mustang) and I will be sleeping….and forced to play cards by my little sister who I haven’t seen in four months.

Elevator etiquette – this is the one thing I will not miss from this job. The students are so rude when it comes to elevator etiquette, but then again some lazy employees have the same problem. If you are only going up 2 flights take the stairs. Come on. Unless you have some kind of physical problem go up the stairs. I can do the 5 flights in a pair of stilettos you can do 3 in your runners.

Got my job that I wanted. So excited, offer was decent benifits excellent. No more interviews = one extremly happy Juli. thanks for all the well wishes, and I'm very sorry for being such a downer lately - I promise to make it up. Say a give away perhaps???

National Scrapbooking Day at Treasured Memories was a big success or so I’d like to think so. I’m still trying to recover from the lack of sleep.

Oh we watched Juno – it was pretty good but not nearly as funny as Little Miss Sunshine.

We got these ones from Elly Nelly but the lace circles are in aqua and the small circles are black our wall is a dark grey so they are going to pop!

Job Search Update:
Well the other day when i got my e-mail that one of the positions decided not to fill the position at this time I was pretty ticked. While on the treadmill I did some thinking. I bet you any money that they couldn't fill the position because someone called them on the illegal question they asked thus voiding all the interviews. So if they hired anyone but the person who called it on them they could technically take them to court for discrimination. My boss thinks i'm right on the money. Thus I do not feel as shitty.

The one with the coffee shop called my references on Friday, so that's a super good sign.

I had another interview with a different department at the university and it went amazingly well. I went in with a different attitude, not scared but more like that does this place really deserve me? Are they good enough for me - a confidant attitude, not rude. They complemented me on my witting skills and my attention to detail in my resume and cover letter. They also loved the questions I asked during the interview, some of the best they have ever heard. Good ol' Google.

Oh and one of the jobs I interviewed for - I got deined. I think i'ev reached my boiling point for fustration. I don't deal well with anxiety - I have a few issues with waiting. I appreciate all your support but its still the most fustrating thing in the entire world. So I'm just going to go home and pout - because that is the mature thing to do. Don't worry Chantel I will ensure a fair amount of chocolate is consumed before tomorrow so I have a happy face.

So Random...

Rowie and I bought an air conditioner last night. It might sound like something super weird to mention but I had nagging him all spring last year that we needed one. When he finally gave in and we were going to spend $500 on one – there weren’t any left in Edmonton. So yesterday while working ever so hard, an ad on my favorite classifieds (Kijiji) came up for a pretty much brand new one for $100. We went and picked it up and they had the cutest little puppy. It was a Shitzu maltase or Bichon.

It turns out with a new job that pays me what I’m worth; I’ll be able to afford a new car (well new to me). As much as I love my Mustang she’s running low and is having some problems it’s probably best that I put poor Shelby down.

Now for interviews – WTF is with the question “Tell me about your resume?” I have been asked this in all four interviews. I don’t understand, they have a copy in front of them. Why would you want to hear me read off my resume, the reason I wrote it down was because I can’t remember what I did.

Oh isn’t the question “do you have any kids” Illegal? Yeah I got asked that one – I didn’t care I don’t have any kids but I’m sure someone will call the HR on that one.

And what is with we’ll call you in a week. Why does it take so long? If someone can’t come in the time you have set aside – too bad for them. They’re not flexible enough – you don’t want them anyways.

Okay so I’m a little on the impatient side which makes me irritable and frustrated.

Here....

I'm alive but barely. Saturday Lisa and I ran off our feet organizing for National Scrapbook Day (NSD). We organized goodiebags, door prizes, the gift basket, name tags, our make and takes, forms and so much more. This better go smoothly. Any TM employees reading please note: everything is labeled. Check the labels.

I have an interview this morning at the University, I would love a job there too. I also have another one tomorrow, a second interview with a spectacular company. I hope this is end of this job search thinggy - it's exhausting me and I gained 2lbs.

I probably won't blog too much this week. I have to finish a lot of things, none-the-less find a job.

Ahhhhh Friday....

Oh my the week that was.....

Did you see that gas is up to $1.23 a liter? WTF last time I looked it was only $1.14 - what happened, when did this happen, why do I have to fill up today?? Stupid murphys law.

I went in to TM last night and purchased 7, yes 7 Glimmer Mists. Oh the fun I had last night, let me tell you. You must buy some it is so beautiful! The little round color indicators on the bottle don't do you any good. They are about 10 times that color on real paper. It's as if the person who was making the swatches sprayed from 10 feet up. My color recommendations are:

Brown - Suede
Green - Key lime
Puple - none I don't like purple
Pink- Vintage Pink or Bubble Gum
Yellow- Sunflower
Blue- Jazz Blue - oh so vibrant good call Jill!
Orange- Peach something
Red- not my style either

I bought Watermellon but I will be exchanging it for a large Vintage Pink which is a color I have at home - which once again is so much prettier than on the label!

Please keep me in your thoughts I really want/need one of the jobs I interviewed with. The one yesterday has a second cup right in the building and its FREE, yes FREE to employees.

Oh and the beautiful yellow Coach purse came out today, I couldn't wait any longer.

Thursday Already...

Well it’s Thursday and my headache is still here….I believe Anam is correct when she said it was probably a stress headache. I wouldn’t doubt it. Today’s interview went 200 times better. I don’t know if that was because I knew that they were really truly interested in me and my abilities or I knew I had to wow them. This place was awesome and I would absolutely love to work there they had their own Second Cup – FREE to employees & guests. I don’t drink coffee and I want to work there just because of this.

I think I might stop by the scrapbook store just to peruse the Glimmer Mist and put one of each in a bag for myself…oh how I heart the glimmer mist!

Oh and I started this secret shopping thing and I got my first mission how exciting!

Not much else going on it’s going to be a long day at TM on Saturday organizing the events for National Scrapbooking Day I wish I could say Rowan and I will be celebrating my new job but no not yet :P

At Home...

I'm at home today not feeling so hot. At least the snow stopped and now has created large amounts of pooling water...yea!

I was thinking about doing a glimmer mist class.... I found some cool inspiration might be fun.

I have another interview tomorrow and I'm not going to wreck this one. I'm off to study the company, my resume, and typical interview questions.....

Day 4...

of this super crappy weather. OMG is Mother Earth not out of snow yet??? Snowdrifts are as high as my waist and it is super hard to walk on the sidewalks as no one is shoveling them and then the snow drifts get higher. It’s really quite depressing.

I had my first interview today….I’m sure I *&^*&^ that one up. But it was probably because of the weather.

Website Building

So my mom was talking to me about my home towns website - it was horrid. Very horrid. I told her i'd re-do it because it sucked soooooo badly. So I'm in the process of rebuilding it. It looks pretty great and I wish I could show it to you but for some reason it won't let me remove the old site and upload the new one. The guy who did the crummy one put something in there so I couldn't do it. So I will show you once my mom phones the guy and gets him to fix it.

Oh and I already have an interview call and I only sent out my resume to 2 people - cool eh? but I know what I'm worth and I'm not settling!

Last night was the death of my beloved pillow. A pillow I have had for oh you know 20 years.Yes I know how unhealthy that is but it was my comfort. Well it's gone now. I slept alright but not as well as I should have.

Does anyone else watch Mr. Ramsy - Hell's Kitchen...oh Gordon (Ramsy not Mernickle) I love you! The male contestant I disliked the most (he was an arogant pig) is gone, it's fantastic. I thought it was always the women's job to be in the kitchen.....

Oh and I have a staff
